A Bird And The Wild Blue Sky
I was a bird with golden wings,
and you were the wild blue sky.
Oh, and I would be happy just to sit there,
and watch as the clouds roll by.
There was no one there to tell us,
where to go,
or what to do.
That was a time fair to remember,
that was a dream come true.
I was a hand with wooden fingers,
and you were a poets pen.
And together we wrote out our own story
right to it's storied end.
Sometimes I still wonder,
could I love you even though,
that was another world away love.
That was a long time ago.
We were born to wander freely,
with a love that you cannot tame.
Yes, and that was the life we chose to live dear.
oh what a foolish game.
